Your Role With The Company:
  • This position reports directly to the Global Piping & Stressing Engineering Manager
  • The role will involve responsibility for set-up of stressing activities, leading teams on larger jobs, performing stress calculations and working with Global lead to produce company standard / tools.
  • Provide active oversight of project engineering work including technical support, technical quality assurance, technical design/project reviews and prevention of over design.
  • Identify & Implement lessons learned across projects, communicate internally and incorporate into documentation / working practices.
  • Work with other Principal Piping Engineers and Global Lead to integrate and develop a common understanding and work practice across multiple locations.
  • When required act as Project Manager or Lead Engineer on specified projects / proposals in accordance with Company Management System.
  • Prepare Basic & Complex engineering deliverables in accordance with Company Management Systems, current legislation, Design Codes (ASME B31.3, ASME VIII, etc.) and relevant international standards.
  • Check Basic & Complex engineering deliverables produced by others in accordance with Company Management System against current legislation, Design Code (ASME B31.3, ASME VIII, etc.) and relevant International Standards.
  • Apply in-depth subject matter / technical knowledge to resolve complex or unusual engineering and design problems.
  • Provide technical information in support of the project team.
  • Attend technical design/project reviews to ensure compliance with customers’ needs and QHSE requirements.
  • Expand and maintain knowledge of the latest standards, legislation, products, and practices relating to the relevant engineering discipline to reinforce professional competency
  • Implement assigned engineering work within the budget and project timescale
  • Commercial awareness of the impact of changes in scope, budget, and schedule overruns.
  • Departmental Planning and organization activities.
  • Mentoring other piping engineering professionals.
  • Manage scope, budgets and schedules on small projects as required.
  • Comply with the Company Management System and QHSE requirements
  • Identify and present training and learning opportunities (both individual and departmental) for consideration.
  • Maintain knowledge of the latest standards, legislation, products and practices relating to the relevant engineering discipline to reinforce professional competency.

  • Work with other Principal Piping Engineers, Stress Specialists and Global Manager to ensure the organization retains and develops the key skills and knowledge for continued success.
  • Provide mentorship to younger/junior engineers within the organization

Background Profile:
  • Bachelor’s Degree Mechanical Engineering and PE License in Texas and Louisiana required.
  • 15+ years of experience in various Piping engineering roles (At least 10 years working as a dedicated Stressing Engineer)
  • Must have a minimum of 5 yrs experience leading a team of pipe stress engineers.
  • Extensive experience in Stressing Jacketed Piping Systems, Vibrating / Pulsating Pipework (Connected to Reciprocating Machinery), Highly Loaded Pressure Relief Pipework & Supporting thereof.
  • Experience with Fatigue Analysis. Wind Loading / Seismic Calculations, etc.
  • Hand Calculations from First Principles to Resolve Technical Issues
  • High pressure (>300 barg) Piping & Tubing experience.
  • Extensive & Detailed knowledge of & experience with industry standard Stress Analysis Software (Caesar II).
  • An in depth understanding of the ASME piping design codes (ASME B31.3, B31.1, BPVC, etc.), ASTM, API, BS, EN, ISO, DIN material and manufacturing specifications and standards.  ASME B31.3 Chapter IX High Pressure Piping experience preferred.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
  • Experience in engineering design of oil & gas, petrochemical or plastics (e.g. LDPE) plants.
  • Preferred experience in Pipe Support Design & Calculations
  • Broad expertise in process plant, piping design, fabrication and erection, safety and environmental issues with some site experience.
  • Must be capable as working as part of a close-knit small core team as well as being self-reliant with the confidence to make decisions acting on their own initiative.
  • General understanding of the entire cradle to grave workflow for an EPC Project, interdepartmental dependencies, recognition of the importance of TIC rather than individual constituents that make up the whole.

Consider joining our team of experienced engineers and designers providing plant layout and piping designs for our petrochemical and advanced recycling business lines. Your Role With The Company:
  • This position reports directly to the Mechanical Piping Design and Plant Layout Section Leader.
  • Piping Design support for Plants and Facilities.
  • Support requirements related to Capital (Lump Sum) & Expense (T&M) projects.
  • Manage project cost and schedule as required by the approved budget and client expectations.
  • Able to review 3D models and check piping packages as required to furnish the client with error free design.
  • Relevant design experience in the petrochemical or related industry including extensive experience as a Senior Designer.
  • Allocation of work to the Plant Design team under supervision and resource planning.
  • Expediting project deliverables in a timely manner to ensure that project deadlines are met.

Perform the following for the Manchester Office Piping Design & Plant Layout Department Section: Integration & Standardization:
  1. Take a proactive role in the integration of personnel, systems and procedures between US and UK offices. Coordinate such activities with the counterpart in the Baton Rouge Office and the Global Piping Design & Plant Layout Department Manager.
  2. Ensure that the implementation of Company Management System within the Manchester office conforms to Best Industry Practices and that all relevant legislative requirements are met.
Project Quality & Safety Performance:
  1. Provide active oversight of project engineering work including technical support, technical quality assurance, technical design/project reviews, consistency of approach across projects and prevention of under / over design.
  2. Ensure that suitably qualified and experienced resources from the discipline are assigned to project or proposal work. Identify and raise any training needs and assign less experienced members of the team to more senior mentors to develop skills and ensure appropriate oversight.
  3. Ensure compliance with the Company processes, procedures, work instructions and departmental standards including company QA and HSE policies.
  4. Ensure that the applicable company systems are used, that the relevant QA procedures and standards are followed and that the piping and layout design within the departments area of responsibility conforms to contract specific requirements and any applicable Client, company, national and international standards, design codes and legislation.
  5. Identify and communicate potential improvements in safety and technical quality performance
  6. Implement the most appropriate software tools for project execution. Communicate any issues with inappropriate or outdated tools and assist in the development of new tools.
Project Cost & Schedule Performance :
  1. Assist in the review and moderation of project engineering budgets and schedules and participate in resource forecasting and planning.
  2. Review Manchester Office performance metrics including project budget and key deliverables which are developed and tracked within Projects Subdivision.
  3. Assist and support Project Lead engineers to complete assigned engineering work within budget and to project timescale.
  4. Identification of contractual scope changes and thereafter assisting in the preparation of piping and layout manhour estimates to execute the additional work.
  5. Constructively identify and coordinate improvements in cost and schedule performance.
Business Development:
  1. Support Business Development to secure new work.

Other:
  1. When required, deputize as Global Piping Design & Plant Layout Department Manager.

ECI Group, the world’s leading specialist engineering contractor for low-density polyethylene (LDPE) and ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) projects has an immediate a need for a knowledgeable and experienced Project Scheduler to be responsible for project controls matters for all projects in the ECI [Simon Carves Engineering] Manchester office. As the Project Scheduler for the Manchester office you will be responsible for the development and tracking of project schedules for all assigned projects and support the development of consistent and robust project controls procedures to efficiently manage and minimize risk to project execution. Your Role With The Company:
  • This position reports directly to the Global Project Controls & Estimating Leader
  • Appraisal and definition of Corporate Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)
  • Identify trends and root causes of deviations against the baseline using lead and lag indicators, effectively reporting any remedial actions in order to drive best value for the client / Contract requirements.
  • Coordinate and Lead planning sessions and workshops to compile master project/program schedule baseline, ensuring an achievable duration.
  • Stakeholder management ensuring all key stakeholders sign off the baseline and have visibility of regular progress updates.
  • Developing internal inter-discipline schedule requirements and external sub-contractors / vendor programs ensuring logical work sequences across all disciplines of the project.
  • Coordinating plans, generating reports and pro-actively communicating the schedule requirements to the project team, including chairing / participating in progress meetings.
  • Developing awareness of contractual requirements / strategy and producing detailed execution programs and Level 4 reports for the project accordingly. Update / Customize Earned value factor / Rule of Credit as per Project requirement.
  • Set up Project Progress Review meeting bi-weekly / monthly in consultation with PM/PE.
  • Responsible for updating the Project Progress (Level 4) report (SCH03 Earned %, SCH04 & 05 Actual hours / Forecast hours) in consultation with PM / Lead Engineer and perform analytical review of report generated.
  • Establish Project reporting calendar and advise Project team of all reporting requirements.
  • Lead the change management process and workflow, providing a platform for adding/ tracking/ monitoring/ approving change in a timely fashion.
  • Prepare the shortfall and identify the project resource constraint.
  • Early identification and flagging of deviations to Budgeted hours.
  • Provide the man hours forecast for / update Cost Report.
  • Liaise with Baton Rouge PCE Team.
Background Profile:
  • 7 + Years experience in Project Planning tool Primavera P6 and Microsoft Projects
  • Legally authorized to work in the UK
  • Skills in Microsoft office (some advance Microsoft Excel functions)
  • Knowledge in Process industry is preferable
  • Overall Concept on Cost Control process is preferable.

YOUR ROLE WITH THE COMPANY:
  • This position reports directly to the Instrumentation |Electrical Engineering Section Leader
  • Coordinate and execute instrumentation work with under the direction of senior electrical instrumentation engineers.
  • Read and develop Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
  • Preparation of instrumentation equipment and construction specification documents
  • Develop drawings and specifications for construction including network communication block diagrams, loop diagrams, logic diagrams, control panel details, junction box wiring diagrams, instrument installation details, etc.
  • Review and evaluate equipment vendor information and determine suitability for specific project applications.
  • Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) when requested.

ECI Group, the world’s leading specialist engineering contractor for low-density polyethylene (LDPE) and ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) projects has an immediate a need in our Baton Rouge office for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - Fixed Equipment who will be responsible for design and specification and fixed equipment [pressure vessels and heat exchangers]. Your Role With The Company:
  • This position reports directly to the Mechanical Engineering Section Leader
  • Develop equipment specifications and become knowledgeable on the equipment necessary for each project.
  • Prepare and check technical inquiry documents (requisitions, datasheets/specifications, etc)
  • Review supplier technical quotes and prepare technical bid analysis
  • Update inquiry documents to order
  • Attend/run post order kick off meetings
  • Review supplier design documents and coordinate with equipment supplier
  • Travel to witness inspections
  • Attend kick-off meetings or attend client sites.
  • The role will interface with other internal engineering disciplines as well as external project team members such as the client or license provider.
Background Profile:
  • Bachelor’s Degree Mechanical Engineering is required.
  • PE License Required in Texas and Louisiana
  • 10+ years of related experience in engineering design of oil& gas, petrochemical or plastics plants
  • ASME Section VIII, Division 2 High Pressure Experience Preferred
  • Knowledge of ASME VIII Division 3 and other codes / regulations preferred not essential (AD Mekblatt, EN13445, EU PED etc)
  • Knowledge of FEA analysis and fitness for service assessments such as API 579 would be of interest but not essential
  • General understanding of the entire cradle to grave workflow for an EPC Project, interdepartmental dependencies, recognition of the importance of TIC rather than individual constituents that make up the whole.
  • Must be capable of working a part of a close-knit small core team as well as being self-reliant with the confidence to make decisions acting on their own initiative.
  • Organized with the ability to support multiple concurrent projects.
  • Accountable, confident, bright, articulate, innovative, highly motivated, and self-starter with a high energy level that performs with the highest integrity.
  • Knowledge and understanding of industry codes, product safety standards, regulations, etc.
  • Experience with other Machinery/packages such as Thermal oxidizers, Pneumatic conveying systems, Extruder/pelletizers, and other types of packaged equipment would also be of interest (but is not mandatory).
  • Experience in the high -pressure LDPE (Low Density Polyethylene process) would also be of interest (but is not mandatory).
  • Material selection knowledge and familiarity with international codes for steel types used in the petrochemical sector required, familiarity with high strength steels preferred.
  • Knowledge of thermal rating for heat exchangers would be of interest but not essential.
  • Comfortable with occasional opportunities for international travel.

The ECI Group has an immediate need for a Sr. Project Estimator to coordinate and oversee prepare Total Installed Cost (TIC) estimating activities on Petrochemical /heavy industrial projects.  Will have in-depth working knowledge of home office engineering services, establish procurement cost, but more importantly be capable of calculating construction field indirects, craft labor, and field various productivity factors using a background of diversified experience with typical TIC estimating tools. Must have a clear understanding of multi-discipline engineering drawings and specifications.  Must be able to support a wide range of small and large project estimates including conceptual estimates with few inputs as well as creating detailed estimates using material take-offs, engineering drawings, and detailed scopes of work. This position can either be based in the corporate headquarters in Baton Rouge or Remote [work from home with the ability to travel to the corporate office on an as needed basis].  This position will be on an as-needed basis [part- to full-time dependent on project workload. Your Role With The Company:

  • Prepare estimates in accordance with the approved procedure for all phases of the works from the agreed engineering deliverables to the appropriate level of accuracy, on a timely and cost-effective basis.
  • Plan, prepare, and present TIC project estimates with minimal supervision.
  • Have a thorough understanding of AACE principles of cost estimating.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of construction unit rates for heavy industrial work and their application in preparing craft labor man hour estimates for bulk commodities.
  • Reviews drawings, scopes of work, and material take-offs provided by the Engineering Division and checks for mathematical and technical accuracy.
  • Based on experience, be able to monitor current market pricing, construction techniques, and cost trends.
  • Possess a strong knowledge of engineering, procurement, and construction functions customarily acquired through extensive experience in the EPC industry.
  • Demonstrated analytical and quantitative skills to assess estimates and compare with historical performance on projects.
  • Understand and develop an estimating plan for various execution strategies for construction contracts including, Lump Sum, Time & Material, Fixed Fee, etc..
  • Demonstrated ability to develop the conceptual scopes of estimates and studies when definition is not available; applies experience and expert judgment to compensate for undefined scope.
  • Accumulates, evaluates, and documents historical cost data as well as construction procedures and methods in order to maintain accurate current estimating standards and pricing.
  • Be able to validate and verify estimates using high-level norms and factors by comparing with previous estimates, outcome costs, and vendor prices.
  • Prepare well-written documents to support the project estimate, identifying areas of weakness and/or areas of risk with the goal of presenting a comprehensive Basis of Estimate document to accompany each estimate.
  • Possess the ability to develop escalation forecasts. Understand and recommend escalation models based on current market uncertainties.
  • Effectively present estimate review packages, including required analyses, to the project management team and Engineering Division management
  • Develop positive relationships with clients in order to gather insight into their business objectives, preferred construction contract strategies, and long-term goals.
  • Ensure active communication with all clients to promote a clear understanding of project goals, success indicators, and potential for future project work.
  • Possess good interpersonal skills and the ability to interact positively with engineering project managers and multi-discipline engineers.
  • Provide professional leadership to those in the Engineering Division to ensure that engineering inputs to the estimate are clear and adequate for the preparation of high-quality estimates.
  • Provide professional leadership to the support personnel assigned to the project, such as project controls personnel and document management personnel
Background Profile:
  • Bachelors Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or Business preferred.
  • Minimum of 15 years of estimating experience in O&G/petrochemical industry.
  • Heavy industrial field project experience and execution is required.
  • AACE Cost Estimating Professional (CEP) Preferred
  • Substantial relevant TIC cost estimating experience in the oil & gas, petrochemical, and renewable industries.   Experience in LDPE/EVA polymer industry is preferred.
  • Highly-proficient with reading engineering construction drawings and specifications, performing material take-offs, and quantifying scopes of work to translate into cost estimates.
  • Sound knowledge of engineering design and construction practices.
  • Experience in lump sum (competitive and open book) proposal estimates as well as cost reimbursable scopes.
  • Experience identifying risks and mitigation planning; Experience analyzing the uncertainties associated with field productivity, material pricing, wage rates, and quantity variation.
  • Excellent communication skills and client-facing soft skills.
  • Must be a good team player with strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Must demonstrate professionalism and the ability to understand client confidentiality requirements.
